The closest airport to the Novi Sad, Serbia is the Belgrade airport “Nikola Tesla”, 80 km or 1-1.5 hours away and is well served with international and domestic flights. Another good solution is the Budapest airport in Hungary. Only 286 km from Novi Sad (4-5 hours ride with our official shuttles), Budapest airport has a good deal of low-cost flights every day.

Novi Sad is located on the E75 motorway (Budapest-Belgrade). It is 350 km away from Budapest and 80 km from Belgrade. The E70 (Zagreb-Belgrade) motorway runs in the vicinity of Novi Sad.

City buses numbers 3, 5, 8, 11 A and 11 B run by the Novi Sad Fair.


  • By ship

Novi Sad is located on the Rhine-Main-Danube waterway, so it can also be accessed by ship. This waterway connects nine countries and six European capitals.


FROM BELGRADE AIRPORT

Novi Sad is 70 km / 45 miles from the Belgrade airport

By Taxi: If you decide to take the taxi from the Belgrade airport to Novi Sad, the ride will cost you around 55eur (per cab, not per person). You shouldn't have to pay more and make sure to find out the price beforehand. The trip will take you about an hour.


Belgrade Airport to Belgrade Bus/Train Station: Belgrade airport is 15km from the center of Belgrade. One bus stop is next to Terminal 1 and the other one is in the front of the Arrivals entrance.

At Novi Sad you have the possibility of renting a bike for 20 dinars per hour or 100 dinars for the entire day and contribute to the ecological awareness and cleanliness of the city, the state, the continent and the planet. The users must register first at the scene for a price of 500 where you get a unique chip with unlimited duration. Be sure to bring your ID card!

There are 5 stations in the city where you can rent a bike: at SPENS, the main entrance at “Shtrand”, at the train station, at the centre by the national theatre as well as in the campus of the University of Novi Sad.From the 1st of July there will be two more stations- at Novo Naselje in front of the Rodić market in the boulevard of Jovan Dučić, as well as in Rumenačka ulica, in front od ABC. Local informations FOOD AND DRINK

Novi Sad is well-known for the abundance of good food and top-ranked gastronomic restaurants. The most popular specialties include grilled meat (you must try Leskovački ćevap (pronounced Lehskovachky chevap)). Another local feature is Karlovački Bermet, red wine which was highly acclaimed at the Viennese Court.

There are many restaurants in Novi Sad which serve international and national cuisine, Italian specialties, Chinese food, fish and vegetarian food. We hope you will enjoy your food here!

The currency in Serbia is the 'Dinar' (or codenamed: RSD) - this is hard to come across in the UK as most banks don't stock the currency. You can buy your currency at Belgrade airport when you arrive.

Dinar banknotes are available in units of 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500, 1000, 2000 and 5000. Mastercard and Visa are generally accepted in shops, cafes and restaurants. ATM machines are available all over the city of Novi Sad.
